Incorrect labels on all of our equpiment

Post by pricth02 »

We currently have two biosemi setups being used for windows 7. Thus, we needed to install the beta version of ActiView. When hooking up all equipment and testing it on a participant, we noticed that the color coding scheme indicated on the labels for electrode leads and on cap are not the same as presented in the stock 64 channel config file that comes with the beta version of ActiView. For example, Fc6 is orange on the electrode labels, but it is yellow in ActiView. Don't really care to much about color inconsistency, problem is color corresponds to locations on the head. This means that when we plug in all of the leads in their "correct" locations, the data in ActiView is all disorganized. For example, Fp1 in the recorded data is really Fpz on the participant's actual head. Also, labels on the input cable where they plug into A / D box (e.g., P32-1020-64Acms) were also switched. We only get a solid blue CM in range light (and thus real data) when we plug A into B and B into A for 64 channel recording. What's the deal Biosemi?

I suspect that you are trying to use a separate CMS/DRL set (with connection to to front-panel) in combination with an A set with integrated CMS/DRL electrode. Plugging this A set in the A connector effectively connects two CMS/DRL sets to the system, which will prohibit the blue light form going solid.

Use the A set in the A receptacle and the B set in the B receptacle. Do not use the separate CMS/DRL when using an A set with integrated CMS/DRL. Use the 64-chan CFG when use 10/20 labeled A and B sets.

Best regards, Coen (BioSemi)
