ActiView10 not working with USB2 receiver with Firmware4.0

Post by trang0412 »

Hi all,
Our team just have Biosemi Active2 upgraded to Active2.5.
However, ActiView10 software got the error 8004 of 'USB-receiver not compatible with this ActiView version'.
We tried with the ActiView9.02 and it works, so the problem should be the incompatibility between USB2 receiver and ActiView10.
We are trying to use Active3 and Active2.5 for our hyperscanning study and hyperscanning use the ActiView10.
I attached the error we encountered with ActiView10 below.
Could any one have solution for this?

ActiveTwo (Mk2 and Mk2.5) only works with ActiView 9.xx

ActiveThree only works with ActiView 10.x

Please contact your local BioSemi represenative for ActiView 9.03 that allows hypersampling:

Master: ActiveThree with ActiView 10.0 on 16 kHz sample rate
Slave: ActiveTwo with ActiView 9.03 on 2 kHz sample rate (speedmode 4)

Best regards, Coen (BioSemi)

Hi Cohen,

Thank you for your helpful reply.
Now we are able to activate ActiView 9.03 with Active2.5 as Salve and ActiView 10 with Active3 as Mater.
When we start 2 devices in hyperscanning mode, there is always trigger signal of 128 automatically appeared on both ActiView 9.03 and 10.
However, when we send trigger from Matlab to Master, there is only trigger signal appeared on ActiView10 but not on ActiView9.03.
Is this normal and a sign of successful hyperscanning setup or should we observe our custom trigger signal on both ActiView10 and ActiView9.03?

It is normal operation that only trigger lines 15 (start/stop) and 16 (1 sec pulses) are transmitted from Master to Slave. The stimulation triggers should indeed be connected to the Master. The trigger lines 1-14 of the Slave are ignored when the Master and Slave files are merged into a single hyperscanning file.

Procedure:

1) For clear display of the hypersampling triggers, the "Analog" trigger display format is preferred.
2) Select "Activate Hyperscanning on both systems, select "Master" for the A3 and "Slave" for the A2 (or other A3)
3) Start acquisition on both the Master and Slave, check that the 1 sec pulses on trigger line 16 are shown on both systems.
4) On both systems, select "Start File", select the channels to be saved, and choose a file name. Both systems are then idling with saving "Paused". The Slave is completely controlled by the Master and can only be stopped by switching the AD-Box off.
5) Unpause the Master, both systems start saving data to BDF file.
7) Stop the Master, both systems stop the acquisition.
8) Use the "Hypersampling Master and Slave files merger" tool in ActiTools100 to merge the Master and Slave files.
9) Check the merged file in ActiRead903, the start/stop triggers (line 13 for the Slave, line 15 for the Master) and the 1 sec pulses (line 14 for the Slave, line 16 for the Master) should be aligned, check at the beginning and the end of the the file. Stimulation triggers (connected to the Master) are available on trigger lines 1-12.

Best regards, Coen (BioSemi)

Thank you Coen for your information.

Now we are confirmed that our hyperscanning system was set up successfully.
