monitor interference

Hi again,
I'm experiencing 50Hz interference when subjects sit in front of a monitor screen, CRT less so than LCD but both problematic. Increasing the distance between subject and screen helps a lot but the critical distance is just a bit too far away.
Does anyone else experience this problem?
