Synchronizing EEG signal with EMG and speech

Hello,

We were wondering if you could help us with some ideas.

For en EEG project, we would like to integrate and synchronize the Biosemi EEG recording with other signals, specifically with EMG -from the wireless Delsys system- and speech, recorded with a microphone.
Do you know how is it possible to do this?

Thank you so much for your help,
Mihaela

The ActiveTwo system can measure EEG, EMG (with flat electrodes and headbox, see https://www.biosemi.com/accessoires.htm) and microphone (via ERGO input), all simultaneous, synchronized and up to 16 kHz sample rate. Trying to use other devices for EMG and sound acquisition seems a needless complication.

Best regards, Coen (BioSemi)

Hi Coen,
Based on your recommendation, we recently installed an ERGO input. We ran a few tests (only EMG and ERGO) and have some further questions:
Is there any option to listen to the speech that is recorded with the ERGO input or to analyze the EMG signals while being able to listen to the speech recording? The intelligibility of the sound recording is very important for our study.
As you mentioned the ERGO input can reach a sample rate up to 16 kHz (but EEG with only 32 channels, right?).
Is there a possibility to modify the amplitude of the ERGO recording separately online or offline? For now, the audio signal overlays the EMG signals.
Thank you so much for the help,
Mihaela

ActiRead (https://www.biosemi.com/download.htm) is made available complete with LabVIEW source code especially for researchers who want to add special features. You can add a sound output by programming in LabVIEW, as well as changing the ERGO amplitude.

Up to 128 EEG channels on 16 kHz are possible with the (free) HighSpeed firmware, see https://www.biosemi.com/faq/adjust_samplerate.htm
