Mark I or Mark II?

Post by MalloryHall »

hi,

I was wondering if there is a way to tell by looking at a biosemi system if it is the Mark I version or the Mark II version. I was reading that one version uses a different Matlab function that the other to import the data. Our system was purchased in Nov 05 which I think is right during the switch from Mark I to Mark II.

If the Serial Number starts with ADC4 to ADC11, then it's a Mark 1.
If the Serial Number starts with ADC12, then it's a Mark 2.

Alternatively, you can check the indicator on the "About ActiView" tabpage in ActiView. With the system running (it is not necessary to connect electrodes), the software shows whether it's a Mk 1 or Mk 2.

The difference between the Mk1 and Mk2 is a slightly longer data block per sample due to the extra channels, see http://www.biosemi.com/faq/make_own_acq ... ftware.htm

Best regards, Coen (BioSemi)
