Cap Cleaning and residual gel

Post by zajdeld »

We've begun to notice that after our recordings there seems to be much residual Signa gel remaining in the electrode pedestals after a good aggitated cleaning with warm water and Hibiclens (a surgical scrub). I had assumed the gel would be water soluble and clean readily with water and detergent, but we are now finding that we must individually clean each pedestal with a cotton swab in order to get out all the remaining gel.
Does anyone have any suggestions in terms of cleaning or perhaps a different gel?
Best regards,

Hi Dan,

We just starts with Biosemi headcap and also noticed some problems fot the cap cleaning (that's probably the most difficult part to clean).

Usuallywe just wash the cap with hot water (no soap/detergent). Strong water flow is preferred to remove the gel.
