Hi,
I'm wondering, if it is possible to use the Analog Input Box to connect two buttons to my EEG signal for a reaction time task?
What is the difference between AIB and RAT-AIB? http://www.biosemi.com/faq/pin_connections_aib.htm
And can I use the 2V pin just to get a high and low or do I have to regulate the voltage down under 1V?
best regards,
Peter

Re: Connection response buttons to the Analog Input Box
Using the AIB with switches is possible if you add a power supply to the switch to toggle between two voltage levels (within the +1 to -1 Volt input range). Alternatively, we can modify the AIB to add 0V and 5V to the input connector (pins 33 and 34). Using the ERGO inputs on the AD-box is the recommended method to connect response switches.

Thanks for your reply!
We are up to use a AA Batterie with some resistors to keep voltage in the +/-1V range. What would be the advantage of using the ERGO inputs? Power supplemented? Are there any tech. specs. for the ERGO inputs online?
Best regards,
Peter

Re: Connection response buttons to the Analog Input Box
Advantages of ERGO:
- Subject not in contact with mains powered equipment (AIB is powered by wall adapter), less interference and more safe.
- Power available from ERGO connector (switch can remain passive).
- Response triggers routed to status channel in software (responses visible as triggers 9 and 10)
- Response triggers available as output triggers 1 and 2 on the USB-receiver.
ERGO pinout:
1: -2V neg supply
2: Common
3: +3V pos supply
4: Ergo1 non-inverting input
5: Ergo1 inverting input
6: Ergo2 non-inverting input
7: Ergo2 inverting input
8: Not Connected
We do not recommend to use the AIB for response triggers.

Looks good, I will reconsider the use of the AIB. Thanks again!
