Hi, everyone,
I have a question on high/low pass settting with online EEG data collecting. specifically speaking, On the monopolar display, what the range of Hz should I set for high/low pass? there is a default low pass (100 Hz) and high pass (0.16Hz). Should tick it or not?
On one participant, I tried disenable the filtering (untick these two boxes), the EEG data is very bad.
What should I do here?
Best,
Jim

Re: bandpass high/low pass
The filters (and reference selection) only affect the displayed signals (not the data to file, that's always DC - 1/5th of the sample rate, and unreferenced).
Set the filters to limit the display to the bandwidth of interest (suppress low frequency drift and high frequency noise). Choose a proper reference for sufficient rejection of Common Mode on the displayed signals.
