I'm using psychtoolbox to send triggers at stimulus onset during my erp task. During data collection the trigger numbers come up at the appropriate times down below the scrolling waveforms. However, sometimes multiple trigger numbers get displayed (overlap each other). When this happens, EEGLAB recognized more events than there should be. This trigger issue is seemingly random and very occasionally there is no issue.

Is this a problem with actiview (i'm using the latest version) or my psychtoolbox program? If it's a problem with actiview are there any potential fixes?

If ActiView displays multiple triggers, then your trigger setup is sending multiple triggers. There are no known issues with the trigger handling of ActiView.
