using an old version of Actiview

Post by nava »

Hello
In the past (2004) we have added a self-made module to the Actiview software. Then it worked prefectly with the Biosemi we used at the time. I am now trying to use this exact software with a relatively newly bought ActiveTwo Biosemi machine.

I get the following error:
Error 5002 occurred at Synchronization Lost

Unsupported speedmode (check version of ActiVIEW)
or
Intermittent data loss (check optical fiber)
or
USB driver not properly closed on exit (restart LabVIEW and ActiVIEW)

I assume its connected to the fact I am using old saoftware with an new machine, but the problem is that I need to use it for that module...

is there any simple advice how to make the old software compatible?

thanks, nava

The new system is a Mk2, whereas the old system was probably a Mk1 (also viewtopic.php?t=270). The difference between Mk1 and Mk2 is the number of channels in each speedmode, see http://www.biosemi.com/faq/adjust_samplerate.htm and http://www.biosemi.com/faq/make_own_acq ... ftware.htm). Current ActiView switches automatically between Mk1 and Mk2, according to a marker in the trigger channel (see http://www.biosemi.com/faq/trigger_signals.htm). Your old software probably only supports Mk1.

I would recommend to integrate your own modules with current ActiView. Alternatively, you should change the number of channels in you old software (for example, speedmode 4 should be changed from 258 to 282 channels)

Best regards, Coen (BioSemi)
