Noise after isolating broken electrode

Post by JSenior »

Hello,

After performing the bucket test we discovered FP1 (32 set) to be suffering from a broken cable close to or maybe inside the main BUS. Any movement in this area of the cable caused the CM range light to turn off and loss of all signals. To continue testing we have taped FP1 to the main cable so it is out of the way. Although we are now receiving signals again, there is a significant amount of noise (unusable).

Is it possible the broken FP1 cable could interfere with the functionality or create noise within the rest of the set?

Thanks,
Jordan

The taped electrode may pickup 50/60 Hz hum, but this does not interfere with the other channels (because of the very high channel separation in the ActiveTwo system).

Remove the unused electrode from the displayed channels (use the "free choice" option), and be sure that the unused electrode is not part of the selected Reference (again, use the "free choice" option).

You may prefer to not save the noisy channel in the BDF file (use the "save subset: monopolar displayed channels" option)

A noisy channel can be removed from a BDF file with: http://www.biosemi.com/download/ToolsFo ... ucer86.zip
