salt bath procedure?

Post by eau »

Hi,

What's the protocol for a salt bath for the 32-pin ribbon cable? I want to make sure I'm doing it often enough and not leaving the cables in too long. Is it okay to use iodized table salt for the bath?

Thanks in advance!

BioSemi does does NOT recommend to soak the electrodes in salt water at all, unless there are specific problems with a set.

If there are Common Mode out of range problems (blinking blue light), then a water test can reveal which electrodes are defect.

In case of polluted electrodes (increased low frequency noise), soaking for a few hours in salt water may sometimes bring the noise level back to normal. If the noise does not reduce after a few hours, then longer soaking is usually a waste of time.

Regarding the us of iodized salt, please see viewtopic.php?t=643

Best regards, Coen (BioSemi)
