Error 5000

When I hook the ActiView batterybox and turn on the amplifier the POWER / CM in range / low battery blink once, then turns off. The battery’s light glows green. The screen will read:

Error 5000 occured at No Incoming Data
Possible reason(s):
ADC-box power is off
or
Optical fiber is disconnected

I fixed it once before by unplugging the USB-to-optical cable from the computer and plugging it into another USB port on the same computer. It reinstalled. I reinstalled the driver and everything worked. I ran my participant.

Days later, when I go to use ActiView again, I get:

Error 5000 occured at No Incoming Data
Possible reason(s):
ADC-box power is off
or
Optical fiber is disconnected

I try my solution again; fail. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled USB drivers. Fail. I tried updating the driver from the Biosemi website. Fail.

Please advise.

Thanks in advance,

Marsh

Please check the following points:

- Is the BioSemi USB device listed in the Windows device manager ?
- Is the Optic Link LED on the USB reciever ON ?
- Does the SyncTest.exe program (packed with the driver) run ?
- Is the correct LabVIEW-DLL.dll located in the ActiView directory (see viewtopic.php?t=559) ?
- Is the firmware in the USB reciever recent enough (see viewtopic.php?t=559) ?

Best regards, Coen (BioSemi)

Hi Coen,

We are experiencing exactly the same problem. In response to your questions:

- Is the BioSemi USB device listed in the Windows device manager ?
It is not listed directly in the device manager, but we have disconnected/reconnected the USB and it recognizes the driver and says that it is installed.

- Is the Optic Link LED on the USB reciever ON ?
The optic link LED on the USB receiver turns on momentarily, when we attempt to power the amp, but the light does not remain on.

- Does the SyncTest.exe program (packed with the driver) run ?
The file will run, but returns FALSE -> acquisition not running!
stopping...
Aborted, hit a key to exit

- Is the correct LabVIEW-DLL.dll located in the ActiView directory (see viewtopic.php?t=559) ?
The 49KB file is located in the ActiView USB drivers folder, but we do not have a .dll 42KB file on our computer.

- Is the firmware in the USB reciever recent enough (see viewtopic.php?t=559) ?
Yes, we believe so.

Any help/suggestions you could provide as to what to try next would be greatly appreciated!

Optic link LED off with AD-box on indicates a problem with the optical link. Please contact your local representative for service.

Hi Coen,

Thank you for the fast response! We will contact our local representative.

Just for clarification, the AD-box does not remain on- when we turn on the amplifier, the power, CM in range, and low battery lights blink once and then all turn off, while the battery light remains green. Does this still indicate an issue with the optical link?

Thank you!

No, that means that there is a short circuit in the system (protection shuts it down).
