CMS and DRL?

Post by mibramao »

We have been working with ActiveTwo equipment. The last year we had been working with the 32 channels and everything went ok. During this year, we started to work with the 64 channels (A-set and B-set). Some days ago, when we were collecting one subject with the 64 channels suddenly the screen showed in every channel flat lines.

We also noticed that when we pressed the CMS and DRL electrodes the signal became normal again, so we think that the problem could be related with these two electrodes.
What do you think?
However, this is strange because we only collect 15 subjects with this equipment.

Because we want to continue the experiment we change the A-set of the 64 channels (P-32-1020-64ACMS) to the A-set of the 32 channels (P32-1020-32ACMS). Do you think that this could lead to some problems? When we did this change everything became normal.

Thank you!

The only difference between the P-32-1020-64ACMS and the P32-1020-32ACMS sets are the labels on the electrodes, the sets are technically identical.

I expect that your "flat line on all channels" issue occurred together with a flashing blue light. Signals can only be measured when the Common Mode is in range, indicated by a continuously lighting blue LED (on the AD-box front and in ActiView). The possible causes of a CM out of range problem have been discussed extensively on this forum (bad electrode-to-skin contact of the DRL or CMS electrodes, or one of the other electrode is defect). The easiest method to find the defect (if any) is to do a test with the electrodes in salt water.
