Save triggers as BDF Annotations

Post by cbrnr »

We are sending triggers through the parallel port on the USB box to record trial start, fixation start, etc. directly in the BDF file. However, the triggers end up in a separate data channel, which we then have to parse to extract the triggers. EDF+ supports annotations, and it would be great if we could store our triggers in such a dedicated annotation channel. Is this possible?

Yes, it's possible to store triggers as annotations in the EDF+ format. EDF+ supports dedicated annotation channels, enabling direct storage of triggers alongside data. This simplifies parsing, avoiding the need to extract triggers from separate data channels. Transitioning to this method would streamline data processing, enhancing efficiency and clarity in recording trial events.
