DC Offset Jitter

Hello,
When viewing the electrode offsets in the ActiView window, I have been seeing some "jitter" in the voltages. They are small, momentary increases or decreases to the offset levels, that then return to normal. When I was first introduced to ActiView, I was told that these jitters were undesirable, but not much more than that. What are they a symptom of, and how do I address them?
