Re: Persistent connection issue with New USB2 Receiver (Win11)

If I understand correctly, ActiveTwo acquisition and trigger generation run on the same computer, and both the USB-receiver and USB-trigger-interface connect inconsistently. The two USB devices work independent of each other. It is unlikely that both USB devices are defect, so I suspect a computer p...

Re: Persistent connection issue with New USB2 Receiver (Win11)

The serial COM port is only used by the USB-->Parallel trigger interface (https://www.biosemi.com/faq/USB%20Trigger%20interface%20cable.htm), it has nothing to do with the USB receiver (https://www.biosemi.com/receiver.htm). Without the COM port active, the ActiveTwo system works and receives trigge...

Re: Testing psychopy triggers-sent codes in ActiveView without connecting the AD-Box

The 8 trigger lines are 8 bits for the codes 0 to 255, so you can convert the flashing LEDs to numbers. You may want to use Actitools902 ---> Trigger to make the conversion easy. It is not possible to see the triggers in ActiView without a connected ActiveTwo system (but it can be a stripped down sy...

Re: Testing psychopy triggers-sent codes in ActiveView without connecting the AD-Box

You can connect 8 LEDs between pins 1-8 and 37 (ground) of the USB trigger interface. The outputs are 3V with 1 kOhm in series so the LED current approx. 1 mA. With a low-current LED , the 8 millisecond pulses are well visible (we tested this). This will allow you to monitor the 8 trigger lines with...

Re: Hyperscanning using one amplifier

The answer to all 3 above questions is: no. Each subject should have its own AD-box. Up to four AD-boxes are daisy-chained by optical fibers. The combined data is processed by a single computer and saved into a single file.

Re: Actiview display settings + offsets

Offsets should be stable and approximately within the +50 mV to -50 mV range. Trying to get them closer to zero does not improve anything. Bridging with DRL (50 Hz noise) or CMS (flat line) indicates that you use too much gel. In that case, there are probably several other gel bridges (adjacent elec...

ActiView is open-source. You can change the LabVIEW code to not read the trigger level from the CFG, but from an added adjuster.

Re: Ergo port, treshold voltage for trigger

Yes you should, unconnected inverting inputs could explain the above problems. Inverting inputs to 0V is OK, but in your case is even better to connect the inverting inputs via a 5k6 resistor to +3V, AND via a 3k7 resistor to -2V (better rejection of supply voltage ripple because both inverting and ...

Sounds like a missing/floating 0V/Ground. Sensor output should probably be referenced to 0V. Connect the 0V to the sensor Ground/Common. Supply datasheet of sensor.

Re: Triggers shown in ActiView during recording, but not saved

ActiView is open-source. You can check in the source code that it is impossible that triggers shown during recording are not saved in the BDF file. The problem is surely in your file reader. Check with ActiRead ( http://www.biosemi.com/download/ToolsForRuntimeEngine2021/ActiRead902-Win.zip ). Best r...

The one-shot trigger characteristics can be adjusted in the CFG (use ActiTools --> Configurator). Further explanation is found at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_OMoXttIguc&t=560s

Yes, send a zero (lines 1-8 Low) after each trigger. The trigger length should remain longer than the sample period (otherwise triggers can be missed), best regards, Coen

Re: Triggers show in ActiView but are missing in saved recording.

The colored lines show the trigger lines 1-16 (colored when High). Use ActiTools to convert to decimal values. The errors in other file readers are because you do not pull all trigger lines Low after each trigger. In ActiRead, you should see colored dots, not lines. Use the "analog" display mode in ...

ActiView displays the actual data that is streamed to BDF file, there cannot be a discrepancy between display and file.
