Windows 7 runtime engine and driver for the USB Receiver!
Dear Forum Members, Glad to report the following achievement from the BioSemi side: I have purchased an ACER Aspire 5538 with Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate, downloaded the VISTA 64-bit USB driver posted above (May 12th, 2009), along with getting the Runtime Engine 8.6.1 from NI (http://ftp.ni.com/suppor...

Triggers sent by the PCMCIA Card to the USB Receiver
Ah yes, one more important thing you should note: When sending any triggers from a Notebook to the USB Receiver, you must understand that there is a delay between the trigger and the actual stimulus on the Notebook! For example, if you intend to stimulate a visual pattern (on off / pattern), then ma...

Hi Smoreno! I have installed many ActiveTwo EEG Systems, and always use my SONY SX Series to send trigger codes to the USB Receiver! None of the SONY's today come with a parallel port, so I purchased two different PCMCIA Cards; one works extremely well - its the EXSYS EX-1356 1P Parallel EPP/ECP/SPP...

I am running new iMAC's with both, VMWare and also Bootcamp. VMWare running Windows XP under the OSX system booted, does not run the ActiView Software properly, since it handles memory a bit quirky. However, I have been running Windows XP booted under Bootcamp for many months now, and ActiView (all ...

Small correction to the entry of before about shorting pins in the DB-37 connector: In the DB37 pins 9 - 16 may be shorted, depending on what is connected, however do not short pins 17-31 (trigger outputs), pin 32 (sample rate clock output) and pin 36 (5V supply) to ground (37)!. Hoping this makes m...

ActiveTwo for Sleep
Dear Louise, Like I have explained before, the ActiveTwo can be indeed used for Sleep Research! 1) You can purchase additional sensors for: Pleth, Temperature, respiration (made by NK) and measure through the EX inputs things like: Eye Movement (to see REM phase), chin muscle EMG and ECG 2) The batt...

Louise, you can always connect two additional flat electrode sensors to M1 and M2 should you wish to do so. Again, the BDF file collected in ActiView uses the CMS as the Reference, however as you know, in BESA the first step to do is always re-reference the channels away from CMS to either Common Av...

Dear Louise, Any measurements done with the ActiveTwo must use the CMS/DRL. In a passive EEG, you cannot just use REF and GND to measure anything either. So its the same with the ActiveTwo. If you want to measure EMG only, and not use a cap on the head, then as you say, you would have to use a separ...

Hi, BESA seems to have a problem to handle incoming triggers at the exact start of a recording. So, you can do this to prevent seeing instead of a trigger code 3 a huge number such as 65280: you start the recording and save a few samples and then hit Presentation to start stimulating. This will work...
